vSphere 6.5 & 6.7 – End of General Support
Don’t forget that vSphere 6 is phasing out, and that most people should be moving to vSphere 7.
So far, vSphere 7.0.3 Update 3c seems to be very stable.

This only leaves just under 7 months to get to vSphere 7.

VMware Cloud Flex Storage
A new offering for VMC on AWS.
Have an average computer requirement, but lots of storage needs?
This could be the answer, as it uses Datrium’s Filesystem to your VMC on AWS SDDC, which is already in use for the Cloud DR service.

HPC on vSphere 7 vs Bare Metal
A nice short write up.
Given the operational benefits virtualization provides, I would definelty approach HPC with a vSphere foundation (but I’m biased, of course!).

Run VMFS unmap via PowerCLI
Ben Liebowitz recently posted a handy little script on this post.
With VMFS-6, storage reclamation is configurable per datastore.
Only downside, is it only reclaims storage from thin provisioned VM disks.
So, if you use Thin Provisioning on the SAN side, and Thick Provisioned VMDK files (my preference if not using HCI), then you must manually run the Unmap… over SSH…. and then for every datastore.
His PowerCLI script has you covered!
