Short update this week.
Been spending a majority of my time the past 2 weeks preparing for the
Nutanix NCX certification…..
vSphere 6.5 & 6.7 – End of General Support
Don’t forget that vSphere 6 is phasing out, and that most people should be moving to vSphere 7.
So far, vSphere 7.0.3 Update 3c seems to be very stable.
vSphere 6.5 & 6.7 End Of General Support ends October 15, 2022
This only leaves just under 7 months to get to vSphere 7.

Don’t forget that SD cards are no longer recommended by VMware!
That means you need SSD or NVMe for boot drives now!

With all the notifications coming from most software vendors, thought it appropriate to provide a link to VMware Security Advisories
ESXi – SD/USB boot devices revisited….again
So VMware made it very clear in 7.0 Update 2 that SD cards were no longer supported as boot devices.
That kept a lot of people from upgrading to this rev, most of those I speak to still have ESXi hosts at 6.7 as they figure out their approach.
Well, VMware has chained its mind last week, and now SD cards are supported for the time being in the 7.x releases.
Does that mean you no longer need to move to SSD / NVMe for boot devices?
NO! You still need to get there by the 8.x release.

Nutanix vDisk Performance Improvements
This is an improvement that you’ll see once you get to AOS 6.1
(or for most of us, 6.5, as that is the next expected LTS release of AOS)
