VCF 9 – Principal Storage vs Supplemental Storage
The short version of this?….
Principal storage is what you need in place to build a Domain (Management or Workload) in VCF 9.
vSAN (of course), VMFS via FC, and NFS v3 are Principal Storage.
Supplemental Storage is additional storage types that can be added once the Domain (Management or Workload) is up and running (or it can be used if you import an existing environment.
