All the vRealize products less than version 8.7 Oct 30, 2022
(Yes, I know that 8.7 isn’t out yet).
Horizon 7 on Oct 15 2022.
Here is a link to the VMware Product Lifecycle Matrix.

NSX-T IDS/IPS – protecting against Log4Shell
NSX isn’t just about virtualizing the network.
Security is huge part of it.
This is one good blog post I found, that is a short <5 minute read on this topic.

vSphere with Tanzu – problems with .local LDAP
It’s not with VMware or Tanzu, it is an issue with anything using
systemd-resolved service.
News to me, but I’m very glad I use different domain names than .local.
VMware KB 83387 is here, detailing the issue & workaround, but ONLY for labs & proof of concept environments.
…I can still see some large enterprises that still have their AD domain named .local from 20+ years ago running into issues like this….

NSX-T 3.2 available!
My favorite thing in this release?…
Regular vDS Port Groups now get DFW!!!

Veeam NBD Multithreading in v11
One of the team members at WEI pointed this one out to me.
Looks like NBD (Network Block Device, or Network based backup) can be tuned.
Check out the Veeam Forum for details explaining….

Nutanix Hybrid Cloud Reference Architecture
Updated in November 2021, this is a great online reference architecture.
Yes, you can still download the PDF of it.

Nutanix AOS 6.1
Some pretty cool items here, but his is about node removal.
You may not do this often on-prem, but doing it in the Public Cloud (Nutanix Clusters), you may have a need to quickly retire nodes.
Still, it will be nice for on-prem once every 3 or 4 years as well.
Josh Odgers reviews the improvements made in AOS 6.1.

Nutanix Scaling Storage Capacity
Another Josh Odgers post, going into the details of how node expansion works.
Granted, this is from Feb 2020, but it is still relevant, and I needed this post this week.
Yes, there is a VMware vSAN comparison, but I’m more interested in the details of Nutanix approach detailed out in this post.
