1Password Blog – Mother of all breaches….
1Password Blog post highlighting the latest breach…
26 billion records breached?
It amazes me how many people don’t use Password Managers.
I’ve been biased to 1Password for over 10 years…
Note a 50% discount ($18) for 1 year subscription near the bottom…
Even Mercedes-Benz had a breach, though poor password/key management.
vSAN ESA & minimum # of nodes for RAID 5/6
Been said before in Duncan Epping’s posts & books….

How to Enable & Configure vMotion Application Notification Feature
Pretty sure the title (above) covers it.
“Stun Time”…we have seen it….it is not unique to VMware or vSphere.
It’s an Operating System response to specific administrative operations, for example, in the Microsoft Windows world, the same interruption happens when you take quiesced (in-Guest) backup/snapshot of even a physical Server.
New to vSphere 8, “…when a vMotion operation is invoked, the operation waits for an Administrator-configurable “clearance” from the Guest Operating System before it actually begins“

Synology User – try WORM (WriteOnceReadMany)
Great post…check it out, and see if it is even an option for you….
Downside when I tried to implement?
I was NOT using the BTRFS volume (as this is a 10+ year implemented Synology with drives moved between a few generations of Synology).
This meant I could not implement WORM (without formatting & starting over).
But I found this interesting….
Might change HOW I do my next migration, and use BTRFS vs ext4.
My primary use case?
Backups…..this is the backup (and archive) for lots of my data.
Would be GREAT to have a “Forever WORMed” share, which I consider my “Archive”
Would be GREAT to have a “1 year retention WORMed share, for backups.
